UNKNOWN - (Somebody smarter than me obviously...)
Struggling with her own rare auto-immune condition, paralyzed chest down, in the height of world idiocracy, while working full time and putting up with me, Mallory managed to complete her Practical Herbalism Diploma in 2021!
We do believe that our bodies have the ability to heal themselves. And we are working so incredibly hard to get Mal back on track. While western medicine has its place and can alleviate/mask some symptoms, we are hell bent on determining root cause and healing long term.
“If you don’t make time for your wellness, you’ll be forced to make time for your illness.”
So so true.
If there's one thing that gives you time for introspection; it's paraplegia. While we wholeheartedly believe that this is temporary, it does force a person to confront what we "know" about how our bodies work, the cause of disease and the ability to heal.
We have been convinced for hundreds of years to exchange something of "value" - say a goat - to some esoteric order of "professionals" - who we are to trust implicitly - in exchange for a "diagnosis" of some "ailment" or "contravention of norms". We are given a "prescription" to appease the vengeful spirits and to trust that it will work. First, it was from priests and shamans, then from doctors and scientists. Is the explanation that "the body is suddenly attacking itself" via an autoimmune condition, a more satisfactory explanation than "vengeful spirits " have taken up residence?
The truth is... I don't know. I probably know less than when I first started to think about it.
What I DO know, is that science has a long history of unintended consequences. We're always fighting against something and the entirety of Nature is a formidable enemy. Every time people have the hubris to isolate and amplify some minute aspect of something and turn it into a against nature to win a war, in come the side effects.
Herbalism is a wholistic approach, support the WHOLE being with a WHOLE herb or grouping of herbs to affect the desired outcome of BALANCE in an organism. Just the way that the wisdom of Nature intended it. The WHOLE is more than the sum of its parts.
We look forward to constantly expanding our herb gardens and farmacy to fill our apothecary and to help others to help themselves as well. If our learning can help you on your healing journey, we want to help.
Your prescription is in nature!
Are you herb curious?
Do you have the sneaking suspicion that there is a natural way to work with your body instead of against it?
Tired of unintended consequences of the usual Western "sick-care" (allopathic) medicine approaches?
Maybe Mallory can help. Book your consultation now.
Wait. What's this going to cost?
Look, here's the thing, the world is full of rip-off artists. Everyone wants to sell you their snake oil that makes you skinnier, with more hair, younger with a perma-boner or whatever.
We've spent a bazillion dollars trying things that may or may not have worked. It sure would have been nice to proportionally reward the things that did work rather than those that didn't.
We're looking to add value to your life; and so, we believe that if you put value out into the world, proportional value will be returned.
So what does that mean for you? How do you determine value up front? Great question, glad you asked.
It's a conversation. We're open to barter, fiat currency or other value in kind. You may not know up front how much of a difference this will make in your life and so you can wait for results and reward us proportionally.
